Großglockner High Alpine Road
The most famous alpine road, the Großglockner Hochalpenstraße, takes you right into the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park and to the highest mountain in Austria, the Großglockner (3,798 m) and its Pasterze glacier! The panorama road is 48 kilometres long and includes 36 hair-pin bends. On the ascent to an altitude of 2,504 metres, you will drive through a unique mountain world.

The Großglockner cable cars will take you straight into the fascinating world of the high mountains. Here a breathtaking panoramic view of the Hohe Tauern National Park awaits you, with the majestic Großglockner and over 50 more 3000m+ mountains!
Reisseck Funicular
An adventure that’s a bit steep – a ride on the funicular up into the world of the Hohe Tauern! You will overcome an incline of 82 % on the steepest stretch of the Reißeck funicular. The Reißeck narrow gauge railway will take you on to the mountain restaurant. Here you will be spellbound by the breathtaking panoramic view of the high mountains.
Möll Valley glacier: adventure at 3000m
The Glacier Express and the Eissee cable car offer a comfortable way of reaching the Eissee Panorama restaurant, in the middle of the only Glacier skiing area in Carinthia. Whether you are there for a meal and drinks on the gorgeous sun terrace, or to continue up to the summit (3,122 m) with the chairlift: the Möll Valley glacier is always a holiday highlight!
Großglockner Glacier funicular
At Franz-Josefs-Höhe, the end point of the Großglockner High Alpine Road another attraction awaits you that is also covered by the National Park Kärnten Card: a short ride on a funicular, then a short hike and you will have reached the largest glacier in the Eastern Alps, the Pasterze a 9km stretch of eternal ice, with the Großglockner (3,798m) towering above.
Kreuzeck Panorama cable railway
Built in 1956, the nostalgic Kreuzeck cable railway will take you on a romantic ride up to Rosswiese reservoir, the mountain station, at an altitude of about 1,200m. There one of the most attractive hiking areas in the Alps awaits you, the Kreuzeck Group, with one of the Region’s most distinctive mountains for views, the Salzkofel (2,498m).
