Heiligenblut Gold Diggers’ Village
The fever of the gold rush will grip you too! In the only gold diggers’ village in the Alps, in the Fleiß valley near Heiligenblut. Reconstructing the original, this small settlement has been newly erected on historic ground. After visiting the village, you may even find a small nugget, panning for gold in the Fleiß stream.

Apriach Stock Mills and Mentlhof
It is not only the natural landscape of the National Park’s core zone that characterises the landscape of the Hohe Tauern National Park Carinthia Region. The cultural landscape shaped by the hands of men and women is also very much part of the picture. The stock mills and the Mentlhof showcase farm in Apriach (municipality of Heiligenblut) are excellent cases in point.

The "Tauern Crystal Treasure” display at the Winklern Maut Tower will take you into the fascinating world of mountain crystals. The artistically arranged mountain crystals and minerals glow mysteriously in the darkened rooms!
The Ragga gorge
The “Gorge of Gorges”: if you are walking the spectacular walkway through the Ragga gorge for the first time, be prepared for jaw-dropping astonishment. The Großglockner cable cars will take you straight into the fascinating world of the high mountains. Here a breathtaking panoramic view of the Hohe Tauern National Park awaits you, with the majestic Großglockner and over 50 more 3000m+ mountains!
Großglockner High Alpine Road
The most famous alpine road, the Großglockner Hochalpenstraße, takes you right into the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park and to the highest mountain in Austria, the Großglockner (3,798 m) and its Pasterze glacier! The panorama road is 48 kilometres long and includes 36 hair-pin bends. On the ascent to an altitude of 2,504 metres, you will drive through a unique mountain world.
BIOS National Park Centre, Mallnitz
The Mallnitz National Park Centre exhibitions amount to a world of interactive adventures, where there’s always plenty to discover. ‘BIOS’ means ‘life’ but what is life? How did it come into being and where can you find it? At BIOS every visitor becomes a researcher, who can explore the secrets of alpine life in a fun way.
