The National Park Kärnten Card is available at the more than 90 ‘Inclusive’ establishments in the National Park Region. You automatically get it for free and it is valid for the duration of your stay (minimum: 2 nights). Of course your little ones are also included!
And this is how to save money on your family holiday:
Sunday arrival: travel to your National Park holiday on the ÖBB Tauernschleuse.
Monday: take the Reisseck cable car into the world of the mountains.
Tuesday: visit BIOS National Park Centre in Mallnitz, including the “Butterflies” special exhibition; then into the Ragga gorge in Flattach
Wednesday: along the most beautiful mountain road in the Alps – the Großglockner Hochalpenstraße; on the glacier funicular down to the Pasterze glacier; in the evening ibex watching in the company of National Park Rangers.
Thursday: Großglockner cable car up the Schareck; and then a guided walking tour in the company of a National Park Ranger along the ‘Tauernfenster Geo-Trail’. In the afternoon, panning for gold in the Gold Diggers’ Village.
Friday: visit one of the Hohe Tauern National Park Region’s outdoor swimming pools. Afterwards the Winklern Maut Tower beckons, with its sparkling crystal treasures.
Saturday: drive along the Malta Valley High Alpine Road to the Kölnbrein dam and visit the Water Games Park at Fallbach Falls!
